What better way to kick off the New Year but with an away event at the Teeling Distillery? Stephen Teeling hosted a huge turnout on the night and presented two distillery exclusives, the Hungarian Oak and the Chestnut Cask along with the Teeling Small Batch and the Collinstown Collection which is exclusive to the Airport.
Nose: Candyfloss, dried apricots and some apples and pears on the nose
Taste: Sweet and fruity on the palate with good mouthfeel. Flavours of fresh apricot, pears and apples with some spicy vanilla infused oak.
Finish: Dryer towards the finish with some sappy, oak and wood nuances coming through.
Distillery Exclusive Hungarian Oak
Nose: Fresh wood shavings and sandalwood oil with a fresh underlying sweetness
Taste: Sweet wood sap intermingles with subtle spices, dried fruits and notes of toasted oak
Finish: Wood spice on the tongue slowly gives way to a dry tannic finish
Distillery Exclusive Chestnut Cask
Nose: Light fresh straw bale, peaches & cream, boiled sweets and maple syrup
Taste: Creamy cheesecake, roasted chestnuts, caramelized banana and sweet wood sap
Finish: Unique wood spices tingle on the tongue
Collinstown 12 Year Old (Exclusive to the Loop)
Nose: Citrus notes; stewed lemons, clementine and marmalade.
Palate: Ripe peaches, pineapple syrup, apricot and cantaloupe melon intermingle.
Finish: Spiced and balanced yet robust finish.
